PEELA, a supergroup led by Johannes Granroth, presents its own version of today’s social music. It fuses styles from the African-American musical tradition into a cohesive whole, with playful improvisation, strong melodies, rich harmonies and catchy rhythms playing a central role. Their music is instrumental, but occasionally embellished by Maja Mannila’s virtuoso vocals. PEELA has released several singles over the past year, and their highly anticipated third album “Notbad” will be released in March 2024 via Eclipse Music.
