Lauri Schreck & Puhuri

Sat 20.07. klo 23:00 - Poriljonki

Lauri Schreck is a man whose hands skillfully play both the guitar and the kantele! This charming singer released his new album “Tapahtuu” with his revamped band Puhuri in February (Eclipse Music). Lauri is best known as a modernizer of the kantele and a multi-instrumentalist, with his stunning performances of AC/DC and Foo Fighters songs being widely viewed and shared on social media. His performances have been seen in numerous TV shows such as “Vain Elämää” (season 10 with Antti Tuisku), “Talent Suomi” (finalist in 2016), and more recently, as a guest on Yle’s “Puoli Seitsemän” show and MTV3’s “Huomenta Suomi” in the late winter and spring. In recent years, Lauri has also headlined many high-profile corporate events with his kantele, but his primary instruments have always been the guitar and vocals.

Schreck’s own rock band, Puhuri, is a genuine dream team of experienced musicians drawing influences from artists like John Mayer, Bruce Springsteen, Chris Stapleton, and Ryan Adams. This Finnish-language pop/rock ensemble continues where the original group named Puhuri left off. While the kantele playing beautifully reflects Lauri’s musical soul, guitar-driven Finnish-language pop/rock remains closest to his heart. Lauri Schreck & Puhuri’s songs can be described as a celebration of a honeyed guitar trio, with seductive grooves and rich sounds complementing skillful vocals and fresh lyrics. Their versatile repertoire of original songs is complemented by intriguing covers, including a version of Eppu Normaali’s classic “Voi Kuinka Me Sinua Kaivataan” reimagined in a completely new light, recorded on their new album “Tapahtuu”.
