Led by the world’s best Iranian-Finnish blues guitarist Hamid Moeini, the trio follows the path of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, not forgetting their own songs.
HMB went on break in 2008 after singer/guitarist Moeini started at Mr Ylppö & Ihmiset as the band’s guitarist. In the 2000s, HMB toured extensively and performed at Pori Jazz, RMJ, Blue Sea Film Festival and Sodankylä Film Festival. The band gained a reputation as a soulful and tight interpreter of the Henrix legacy. Today the band also plays their own material. Hamid Moeini – vocals/guitar, Tarmo Lehtonen – bass and Mika Haanpää – drums. Hamid Moeini is known as the man who can tackle even the most difficult solos of Hendrix with his electric guitar. Half-Iranian, Moeini is a passionate Hendrix fan and a full-time guitarist, music therapist and guitar teacher. He is perhaps best known as the guitarist for Mr. Ylpö, but he has also played in many other ensembles, including Henrix 2000 and the Electric Anchor Children’s Music Orchestra. Bassist Tarmo Lehtonen has played in bands such as Tapani Kansa and Meiju Suvas, Jukka Syrenius Band, Elonkorjuu, Love Messenger, Finn Zeppelin and many other bands. Drummer Mika Haanpää has played in Eurajoen Soittokunta, Marie Celeste, Romanss, Syvä Uni, Sweaty Squeeze, Aces DC and many other bands.
