Amaro Freitas is a rising star in the Afro-Brazilian jazz scene. Hailing from Recife, Brazil, he’s well known for playing piano almost as a percussion. Amaro Freitas released his debut album Sanque Negro in 2016. His style combines Afro-Jazz, Brazilian samba, and bebop-jazz. He has since released albums Rasif (2018) and Sankofa (2021). The concert at Pori Jazz will also be his debut in Finland.
